Oriental Ceramic Society
The Oriental Ceramic Society (OCS) is a society 'devoted to the study and appreciation of all aspects of oriental art', and over the last 90 years has greatly enhanced the understanding of oriental art, and oriental ceramics in particular, by means of regular meetings, lectures and publications. The Society was founded in London in 1921 by a group of collectors and others interested in oriental ceramics. The original members were Prof. J.N. Collie, Lt-Col. K. Dingwall, Mr George Eumorfopoulos, Mr H.B. Harries, Mr A.L. Hetherington, Mr R.L. Hobson, Mr. W. King, Col. Pope Hennessy, Mr Bernard Rackham, Mr Oscar Raphael, Mr Vernon Wethered and Mr S.D.
